An Evening at The Botanist

On Tuesday 3rd December we held our first ever Sociable Dinner Club event at The Botanist in Liverpool ONE and it was amazing to see so many familiar faces. As this was our first Dinner Club even we unfortunately didn't capture any photographs, this will definitely change for future events!

The event however was a huge success and was enjoyed by everyone that attended and it was great to witness the positive vibe. The food certainly didn't disappoint either, with a platter for starters that consisted Pigs in Blankets in a Cranberry Glaze, Korean Fried Chicken with Sriracha Mayo, Baked Camembert with Spiced Red Onion Marmalade & Toasted Sourdough and Houmous with Spiced, Roaster Chickpeas & Warm Pitta Bread.

The Botanist are famous for their Turkey Hanging Kebabs, which was the most popular main on the evening, whilst other guests enjoyed Pan Fried Seabass, a Festive Pie and Sirloin Steak. After devouring the mains, guests were then treated to their desserts, with a choice of an Espresso Martini Tiramisu, Sticky Toffee Pudding or a Vegan Vanilla Cheescake. The food was very filling and was excellent value for money.

We must give a special mention to the venue as The Botanist, lit up with their Christmas decorations looked spectacular and the ambience at the restaurant was perfect for our Sociable Dinner Club event.

When we created our Sociable Dinner Club project, the idea was to create a relaxed environment where disabled people and non-disabled people can come together on equal terms and enjoy an evening of dining with good company, helping to reduce social isolation for adults at risk. It was clear from our first event that we done exactly what we had planned and we must thank all of the guests that attended our first dinner club experience for ensuring the night was filled with joy and laughther and enjoyed by everyone that attended.

In 2025 we will be hosting several dinner club events at various locations across Liverpool and we hope to see many more familar faces in the new year. We are already planning future events and details will be released in due course.

Thanks again to everyone that attended, see you in 2025!
